Deneb was an inhabited planetary star system in the Alpha Quadrant. Four of its planets were Deneb II, Deneb IV, Deneb V, and Deneb XX. It was located between Earth and Argelius II. (TOS: "Wolf in the Fold")

In 2293, the location of Deneb in the Milky Way Galaxy was labeled in a star chart that was in Captain James T. Kirk's quarters aboard the USS Enterprise-A. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, okudagram)

Deneb is a real star which is also known as Alpha Cygni. As such, its system might also contain Alpha Cygnus IX, the namesake of the treaty of Alpha Cygnus IX .
According to Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), there were two stars that were known as Deneb - Deneb Kaitos and Alpha Cygni. Star Trek: Star Charts also postulated two Denebs, Deneb Kaitos which hosted Deneb V, a Federation world inhabited by Denebians, as well as Deneb II. (p.33 & 41). The second was Alpha Leonis (better known to Star Trek fans as Regulus), which hosted Deneb IV and the Bandi. (p.34).
