Deneb V is the fifth planet of the Deneb system. Class M. Homeworld of the Denebians.

In 2267, this planet still uses the Death penalty, for example for fraud. The guilty party has the choice between death by electrocution, death by gas, death by phaser or death by hanging. (TOS: "I, Mudd")

Note

Planetary classification is conjecture based on the fact that the planet is a homeworld.

It seems highly unlikely, that Deneb V is orbiting the same star as Deneb IV in TNG: "Encounter at Farpoint", since settling the actual star system around Deneb (Alpha Cygni) stated a major leap for the Federation into deep space in this TNG-episode, taking place ca. 100 years after TOS: "I, Mudd". For more information see Deneb.
