Deneb was mentioned as a small note on a very large [[star chart]] graphic created for "Conspiracy". It was the image behind the chair in the room where [[Dexter Remmick]] was killed. It appears to be located within an outlined block, which may indicate that it was surrounded or was even a part of [[Federation]] territory at the time. It seemed to be fairly close to many other stars which are known to be close to the [[Sol system]], like [[Gamma Trianguli]] and [[Makus III]], although [[Canopus]] does question the accuracy of that star chart.

The Explored Galaxy

The location of Deneb in "The Explored Galaxy" star chart

Deneb was the primary of the inhabited Deneb system.

In 2293, the location of Deneb in the Milky Way Galaxy was labeled in a star chart that was in Captain James T. Kirk's quarters aboard the USS Enterprise-A. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, okudagram)

According to Star Trek: Star Charts, there were two stars that were known as Deneb - Beta Ceti, also known as Deneb Kaitos, and Alpha Cygni. Beta Ceti was a G9.5 star with an apparent magnitude of 0.8. The sixth planet, a failed protostar classified as a Class T planet, was viewed by some as a binary companion of Beta Ceti. Alpha Cygni was a bright blue giant located 3,230 light years from Sol. Both stars were located in the Alpha Quadrant. (page 33, 34, & 41)
