An escape pod in the metagenic rings of a gas giant, in 2376
The Delta Flyer escape pod is a one-person escape pod assigned to the Federation shuttle Delta Flyer, attatched to the USS Voyager.
In 2376, while Janeway was on a mission exploring a T-cluster with Crewmen Celes, Harren and Telfer on the Delta Flyer, the crew encountered a spatial fluctuation and the warp core was disabled. Harren theorized that this was caused by a dark matter proto-comet. They then discovered a class T cluster that contained a gas that could be used to reactivate the warp core. Eventually, the crew of the Delta Flyer believe themselves to be attacked by dark matter life-forms. In an attempt to escape, Janeway piloted the Delta Flyer into the radiogenic rings of the planet, and Harren used the escape pod from the Delta Flyer to distract the incoming entities. - It is logical to assume that the Delta Flyer utilizes more than one escape pod, since the escape pod that Harren used was referred to as "Escape Pod One."
