Deela was a Bajoran woman who lived during the mid- to late-24th century.

She was a member of the Bajoran Resistance movement during the Occupation of Bajor. After Cardassian forces withdrew in 2369, Deela became a volunteer at the Tozhat Resettlement Center, looking after Cardassian war orphans that had been left behind.

In 2370, Doctor Julian Bashir and Elim Garak visited the orphanage to determine if Rugal, the son of Kotan Pa'Dar, ever resided there; however, Deela was unable to account for him. This was later revealed to be part of a plot by Gul Dukat to embarrass Pa'Dar, who was his political adversary. (DS9: "Cardassians")

Deela's name was not mentioned in the episode; it came from the script and the end credits.
Deela was played by Karen Hensel in her second of two Star Trek appearances.
The script for "Cardassians" describes Deela's meeting with Bashir and Garak; "In the courtyard, a somewhat weary Bajoran woman (DEELA) sits at a table with TWO BAJORAN CHILDREN, supervising a quiet activity (with PADDS). The children are dressed in clean, hand-me-down clothes." [1]
