DecoPac, Inc. began as a division of McGlynn Bakeries, originally established in 1919 as a Minneapolis, Minnesota bakery. The company is currently based in Anoka, Minnesota and has produced cake decorations under license since 1987. Licensed properties have included major sports franchises, DreamWorks, Mattel, and Marvel, among many others.

In 2009, the company began to produce licensed Star Trek-related cake decorations and accessories.
