Dayne Johnson is a makeup artist who did prosthetic makeup work on Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.

Television work[]

Johnson was a makeup artist on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He won an Emmy Award for his work on this show, which he shared with fellow Star Trek make-up veterans Michael F. Blake, Margie Latinopoulos, John Maldonado, Todd McIntosh, Gerald Quist, Craig Reardon, and Mark Shostrom.

He later became makeup supervisor on Angel, the spin-off series to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He earned an Emmy nomination for this series, shared with David DeLeon, Earl Ellis, Toby Lamm, Steve LaPorte, Robert Maverick, Jill Rockow, and Rick Stratton. He also received three nominations from the Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild Award for his work on Angel, winning one.

Johnson has also worked on Silk Stalkings, seaQuest DSV, and Dharma & Greg. He is currently the makeup department head on the CBS drama series Criminal Minds.

Film work[]

For film, in addition to his work on Star Trek VI, Johnson worked on actor Robert Englund's Freddy Krueger for 1991's Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare. He later worked on movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger's makeup on the amusement park attraction T2 3-D: Battle Across Time and Eraser (1996, co-starring James Cromwell, Mark Rolston, and Vanessa Williams), Batman & Robin (1997, featuring John Glover), and End of Days (1999).

Johnson's other film credits include Thrashin' (1986), Hot Shots! (1991), Anaconda (1997), The 13th Warrior (1999), and The Scorpion King (2002, starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson). He also did uncredited work for such films as The Addams Family (1997, starring Christopher Lloyd and Carel Struycken).
