David Wise is a writer and script editor for animated television shows. In 1974, he co-wrote "How Sharper Than a Serpent's Tooth", an episode of Star Trek: The Animated Series, with Russell Bates.

Wise may be best known for his work on the original Transformers series. He also served as a story editor on the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series for nine seasons. Other animated programs he has written for include Jem, Batman: The Animated Series, and Wild C.A.T.S: Covert Action Teams. In 2010, he wrote Gallifrey: Forever, a Doctor Who spin-off audio drama for the UK based Big Finish Productions. It was released on March 31, 2011.
