David Weddle is a writer of several Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episodes. In all of the episodes he was involved in, he always wrote with Bradley Thompson. He was also a writer, executive story editor and co-producer on Ronald D. Moore's Battlestar Galactica. He also wrote the Star Trek: Section 31 DS9 novel Abyss.

"Inquisition" is his favorite episode of those he and Thompson wrote and considers it to also be their best. [1]

Weddle appears in the background of Vic's lounge in "What You Leave Behind" as a holographic guest.

Weddle's father fought in World War II and was present at many of the battles of the Pacific Theater of Operations, including the Guadalcanal Campaign and the Battle of Peleliu.
