David Lander (born 22 June 1947; age 76) played the role of the Ferengi tactician in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Peak Performance".
Lander is well-known for his role of Andrew 'Squiggy' Squiggmann opposite Michael McKean on the 1970s hit TV series Laverne & Shirley. He has made cameo appearances on many shows during the last 30 years, reprising his legendary character. He has also voiced several animated characters, including the lead Weasel in the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit which also starred Christopher Lloyd.
He was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1984 and was honored as Ambassador of the Year by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in 2000.
In addition to his work as an actor and MS spokesman, he also works as a baseball scout for the Seattle Mariners.
