David Ellison (born 9 January 1983; age 31) is an actor and film producer who will work as executive producer on the Star Trek Into Darkness. [1] Ellison founded the production company Skydance Productions in 2006 and collaborated with Paramount Pictures on several feature films.

Ellison is the son of billionaire software mogul Larry Ellison. He started acting in 2005 when he played a student in the comedy The Chumscrubber. The same year he wrote, directed, produced and starred in the short thriller When All Else Fails. Further acting work includes the drama Flyboys (2006), the television thriller Blank Slate (2008, with Clancy Brown and Richard Cox), the comedy Little Fish, Strange Pond (2009, with Don McManus and Paul Lacovara), the Leverage episode "The Three Strikes Job" (2010, with Jeri Ryan and Mark Sheppard), and the comedy Hole in One (2010, with Rico E. Anderson).

After produced the shorts films The Sound of Football (2004) and Somebody Else (2005), Ellison worked as executive producer for Skydance Productions on the western True Grit (2010), the action sequel Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011, with Simon Pegg), the comedy My Mother's Curse (2012, with Adam Scott and Brett Cullen), the science fiction sequel G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation (2012, with Dwayne Johnson), and the horror film World War Z (2012). He will also work as producer on the crime drama One Shot (2013, with Nicole Forester).
