Template:Realworld David M. Barrett is a television director, writer, and producer who directed the Star Trek: Enterprise episode "Divergence". This was his first and thus far only foray into the Star Trek franchise.

Barrett's other directorial credits include episodes of Pacific Blue, Without a Trace, The O.C., Smallville, and UPN's Veronica Mars. He has been primarily involved with the CBS series Cold Case, directing episodes of that show since 2004. In addition, Barrett co-created a series for the WB called The Mountain. He also served as a producer on the series E-Ring, for which he has written, as well. He has worked on films, as well, serving as second unit director for 1999's Stigmata, 2003's Final Destination 2, and 2005's The Fog, among others.
