David A. Kimball is the actor who played Esaak in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode "Dear Doctor".

Kimball has also guest-starred on a number of other television programs, with the earliest being a 1987 episode of Hill Street Blues which also featured future Star Trek: Voyager actor Tim Russ, as well as Terrence Evans, Anne Haney, James Saito, David Selburg, and Blues regulars Megan Gallagher and James B. Sikking. This was followed with appearances on such comedies as Murphy Brown (in an episode with Erick Avari) and 3rd Rock from the Sun, and numerous dramas, including Beverly Hills, 90210 (with Ann Gillespie and Leonard Kelly-Young), L.A. Law (starring Corbin Bernsen and Larry Drake, in an episode with Eric Server), Picket Fences (with Concetta Tomei), 7th Heaven (with Stephen Collins, Catherine Hicks, and Graham Jarvis), JAG (with Corbin Bernsen and Gary Graham), ER (with Time Winters), and The West Wing (with Brett Cullen, Richard Fancy, and Stephen Root). He even put in an appearance on the cult science fiction series Babylon 5 (co-starring with Henry Darrow, Andreas Katsulas, and Bill Mumy) as well as J.J. Abrams' hit action series Alias (with Terry O'Quinn). In addition, he appeared in the "Finding Nimmo" episode of Boston Legal, a series which stars William Shatner and Rene Auberjonois. That episode also guest-starred Crystal Allen, Leslie Jordan, Lisa Kaminir, J. Patrick McCormack, and Michael Wiseman.

His feature film credits include a small role as a doctor in 1988's Clean and Sober (co-starring Dakin Matthews) and a minor supporting role in 1993's The Firm. He was also among the many Star Trek performers to have roles in the 1992 TV movie Sinatra; the others were Marc Grady Adams, Brad Blaisdell, Christopher Carroll, Jeff Corey, Robin Gammell, Bruce Gray, Bob Gunton, Jay Robinson, Jack Shearer, Don Stark, and Todd Waring.
