Daniel Benzali (born January 20, 1950) is an actor who appeared as the Surgeon at Starbase 515 in the Next Generation episode "Samaritan Snare".

Perhaps his best known television role was that of attorney Teddy Hoffman in the first season of Murder One, which co-starred the likes of John Fleck and Gregory Itzin. Benzali received a Golden Globe nomination for his performance on the series. He has also had recurring roles on both L.A. Law (starring Corbin Bernsen and Larry Drake) and NYPD Blue (starring Sharon Lawrence and Gordon Clapp).

He has also appeared in a number of films, including White Nights (1985, with John Glover), Messenger of Death (1988, with Laurence Luckinbill and Jeff Corey), The Distinguished Gentleman (1993, with Noble Willingham), Murder at 1600 (1996, with Ronny Cox, Harris Yulin, and Charles Rocket), and The End of Violence (1997, with Rosalind Chao). He also played a member of FEMA, along with Robert O'Reilly, in the 1990 made-for-TV movie By Dawn's Early Light (also featuring Glenn Morshower, Ann H. Gillespie, and Steve Rankin).

Trivia

Benzali was once engaged to Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country actress Kim Cattrall, but the two seperated before going through with the marriage.
