Damage control refers to the act of repairing damage that occurs on board a ship, especially damage occurring as a result of combat or other emergency circumstance.

The task of damage control was the responsibility of damage control teams under the direction of the ship's engineering staff. 23rd century Federation starships often had a specific bridge station dedicated to coordinating damage control efforts.
