The DY-500 class is the designation for an Earth spaceship class that was employed during the early 22nd century.
This class of vessel utilized Yoyodyne pulse fusion drive types and were considerably more advanced than the much older DY-100 class. (TNG: "Up The Long Ladder"; TOS: "Space Seed")
Three sub-classes have been known to exist:

- The DY-500-B subclass: The SS Hokule'a was of this sub-class.
- The DY-500-C subclass: The HMS Lord Nelson was of this sub-class.
