The DEV Eagle Valley was a 22nd century Earth DY-950-class starship, commanded by Captain Dan King.

In 2183, the Eagle Valley was launched from the Sol system on a mission of planetary colonization.

This vessel was among the list of ships that appeared on Captain Jean-Luc Picard's desktop monitor while he searched for "all Earth deep-space launches from 2123 until 2190 with destination in or near the Ficus sector" during an investigation of an SOS signal discovered in that sector in 2365. This vessel, however, did not fall within the parameters of his search, but was among the ships launched in that timeframe. (TNG: "Up The Long Ladder")

Background

The Eagle Valley appeared on an Okudagram that appeared on Picard's desk monitor, and was not verbally referenced on screen. A legible version of the Okudagram would appear in the reference book, Star Trek: The Next Generation - The Continuing Mission.

The date of its launch is twenty years after the founding of the Federation, but the DEV prefix is unknown (and not used elsewhere). Eagle Valley is located in the Pacific north-west of the United States. So this could be a civilian ship, an American ship (post 2161, USS would only be used for Starfleet’s commissioned ships), or a United Earth ship.
