The Cytherian probe
Cytherian probes are devices built by the Cytherians to seek out other races and bring them to their homeworld. A probe attempted contact with the Argus Array and then attempted to reprogram the Enterprise-D's computers. The probe was able to reprogram Lieutenant Reginald Barclay's mind to bring the ship to them. (TNG: "The Nth Degree")
- The Cytherian probe was later used to represent the "Pup" probe in DS9: "The Forsaken".
