Cyrano de Bergerac is a 19th century Earth theatrical piece that is very loosely based on the life of 17th century French dramatist Hercule-Savinien De Cyrano de Bergerac.
The play concentrates on Cyrano's love for the beautiful Roxane, whom he is obliged to woo on behalf of a more conventionally handsome, but less articulate, friend, Christian de Neuvillette, with whom she already is in love.
Reginald Barclay played Cyrano de Bergerac and Beverly Crusher played Roxane in Crusher's adaptation of the play in 2367. (TNG: "The Nth Degree")
The scenes rehearsed by Crusher and Barclay are from Act II, Scene 6 and from Act V, Scene 6.
