Background Information
- This collection also included an excerpt from the story "Anything But Alone" by writer Joshua Ortega and artist Gregory Giovanni Johnson that was featured in its entirety in the Star Trek manga book Shinsei Shinsei. That release also featured the "First, Do No Harm" prose story from this collection.
- In the story "Devices and Desires", the planet killer is taken to "The Yard", a top secret facility where the alien technology Starfleet has acquired is stored and studied. One of its researchers was Dr. Pad, which is a reference to Peter (Allen) David.
