Modifying a console

A console station, or simply, console or station, or control console was a physical device which one could use to interact with computer systems. They were usually used by crewmembers on the bridge of a starship or operations center of a space station.

Constitution-class starshde-oips of the 23rd century had stations specialized for access to gravity control, damage control, environmental engineering, and library computer.

The generic 203-R console used on the Delta-Vega Station was compatible with those used on the USS Enterprise in 2269. (TOS: "Where No Man Has Gone Before")

In 2369, Captain Edward Jellico ordered that the science stations on the USS Enterprise-D bridge be reconfigured for damage control and weapons status monitoring in preparation for possible conflict with the Cardassian Union. (TNG: "Chain Of Command, Part I")

Consoles on starships were prone to explosion when the ship took damage. (TNG: "Disaster")

In 2378, while touring USS Voyager's bridge, Brax inquired which bridge station belonged to Neelix. As Neelix was at a loss for words, Harry Kim explained that the elder Talaxian performed too many duties to have a single bridge station. (VOY: "Homestead")
