The building, itself, stands in the exact location where the [[One Maritime Plaza]] Building presently stands. Interestingly enough, this building shares a similar criss-cross X structure to that of the Bank of China Tower. Another item of note is that the {{w|Embarcadero_Freeway|Embarcadero Freeway}} can be glimpsed in the upper left hand corner. The freeway was demolished after the {{w|Loma Prieta Earthquake|Loma Prieta Earthquake}} in 1989. In the 24th century perhaps another freeway-like structure stands in its place. The real world explanation is that it was most likely a reuse of an old image. |

The Communications Research Center is under the jurisdiction of Starfleet Communications, based in San Francisco on Earth. It was home to the Pathfinder Project during the late 2370s. The facility included several holodecks. As of 2377 its staff included Admiral Owen Paris, Commander Peter Harkins, and Lieutenant Reginald Barclay. (VOY: "Pathfinder", "Inside Man", "Endgame")
Background information
- The Starfleet Communications building is a modified picture of the Bank of China Tower in Hong Kong.
- The Building was seen from an alternate angle in VOY: "Endgame" near the Embarcadero Center in San Francisco. The building, itself, stands in the exact location where the One Maritime Plaza Building presently stands.
