Clarus was a planetary system, one of several surrounding systems of Ferenginar.
When in 2374 Nog floated the possibility that the Dominion has taken Ferenginar, major Kira Nerys countered that it could not have been taken without first conquering systems like Clarus and Irtok. (DS9: "Profit and Lace")
According to the Star Trek: Star Charts, on the star chart United Federation of Planets I, Clarus was located in the Alpha Quadrant. This was a trinary star system, with the primary being a Class K star. It had a magnitude of -1, which was the 100 times brighter than Sol. The secondary was a Class G star, and the tertiary was a Class M star.
Another very similary named system, the clarius system, was also associated with the Ferengi
