The Chinese dragons were mythical dragons in Chinese mythology and folklore on Earth.
In 2270, Captain Kirk and the USS Enterprise encountered Kukulkan, an alien being who had visited Earth in the ancient past. Kirk surmised that this early first contact was the source of the Chinese dragon myths. (TAS: "How Sharper Than a Serpent's Tooth")
In TNG: "Code of Honor", the Centerplace on Ligon II featured a sculpture of a Chinese dragon. It was not specified in the episode if the prop was used to represent a Ligonian sculpture, or an sculpture of Earth origin acquired by the Ligonians.
