Chicken soup is a type of soup made with chicken.
In 1969, Lieutenant Kyle offered chicken soup from a food slot to an air police staff sergeant who had accidentally been transported aboard the USS Enterprise. The staff sergeant was amazed that it tasted like real chicken soup. (TOS: "Tomorrow is Yesterday")
When Captain Kirk felt depressed about M-5 apparently making him useless in 2268, Kirk did not want Doctor McCoy bring him something, but McCoy replied he didn't bring chicken soup but a Finagle's Folly known "from here to Orion". (TOS: "The Ultimate Computer")
