The chemist's shop was an establishment located on the Promenade of Terok Nor while it was still under Cardassian rule.

During the mid-2360s, the shop was owned by Vaatrik, and was the location where he hid a strongbox containing a list of Bajoran collaborators. Vaatrik was later murdered, and in 2370 (after the Cardassian occupation had ended), Vaatrik's widow Pallra hired Quark to retrieve the box from what was now the ship's store. The box was hidden behind a wall panel -- "four in, five up," as she told the Ferengi. Quark's brother, Rom, after releasing the pulsatel lockseal of the store in just ten seconds, was able to burn the panel off with magnasite drops. (DS9: "Necessary Evil")
