Virgin 1 is a British television channel. Run by Virgin Media Television, it launched on 1 October 2007.

In June 2007, it was announced that the channel had acquired the rights to show reruns of the Star Trek franchise from Star Trek: The Next Generation to Star Trek: Enterprise. [1] [2] Star Trek: Deep Space Nine had been specifically referred to in pre-launch publicity. [3]

Deep Space Nine

Deep Space Nine was shown from October 2007- March 2008, when the show ceased to air after season 4. That series was shown daily at 3.00pm & 8.00pm, and as of august 2008 DS9 is aired daily at 2.00pm.

Enterprise

The 1st season of Enterprise was aired Monday nights after Deep Space Nine, throughout winter 2007/2008. It was then repeated from May- August 2008 after The Next Generation, daily at 4.00pm. The 2nd season currently airs every Monday at 9.00pm.

The Next Generation

From March- August 2008, The Next Generation Seasons 1- 4 was broadcasted every weekday at 3.00PM and 8.00PM, in the timeslots previously used by Deep Space Nine. The episodes were repeated at 10.00AM and on the next weekday, and shown in order on Sunday afternoons from 12.00PM- 5.00PM. On Monday August 11th 2008 The Next Generation's timeslots will be replaced with Voyager. It is probable that after Deep Space Nine finishes it's Weekdays at 2.00PM timeslot, The Next Generation will replace it, and this time also show Seasons 5- 7.

Virgin TV On Demand

Virgin Media has also secured the rights to offer Star Trek episodes to UK customers via its video on-demand service. All Star Trek episodes broadcast on Virgin 1 will be available for customers to view again on-demand for seven days after broadcast. Subscribers to Virgin Media's more expensive cable packages will reportedly have free any-time access to the entire library of episodes from The Next Generation to Enterprise through the on-demand electronic program guide.
