In 2000 she received a BAFTA Film Award nomination in the category Best Make Up/Hair for her work on the drama American Beauty which she shared with Tania McComas.
One of her first industry jobs was as a hair stylist on T.J. Hooker (with William Shatner). Soon after, she moved into the movie realm with work on Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise (1987, with James Cromwell, Curt Schulkey, John Cade, Sharon Schaffer, Raymond Forchion, Gary Epper, Tom Hodges, Ed Lauter, Charles Correll, Ed Lauter, Scott Wilder, Frank Smathers, Glenn R. Schulman), the drama Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (1997, with Vivian McAteer and Tania McComas), the crime thriller Absolute Power (1997, with Vivian McAteer), and the Academy Award winning drama American Beauty (1999, with Scott Bakula and makeup artist and hair stylist Cheri Ruff).
She continued to work on a variety of films including the comedy The Muse (1999, with Edouard Henriques III), the action comedy Space Cowboys (2000, with Jenice Alexander, Allan A. Pérez), the romance Town & Country (2001, with Janice Alexander, Heather Koontz, Chris McBee, Toni-Ann Walker, Barbara Ronci, and Karen Westerfield), the science fiction film K-PAX (2001, with Tania McComas, Edouard Henriques III, and Elaina P. Schulman), the comedy The Princess Diaries (2001, with Janice Alexander and Carolyn Elias), the sport drama Seabiscuit (2003, with Carolyn Elias, Art Anthony, Michael F. Blake, and Elaina P. Schulman), the remake Starsky & Hutch (2004, with Carolyn Elias, Kathrine Gordon, Shawn McKay, Francisco X. Pérez, and Erwin H.
