Mrs. Carmichael was a landlady in the 19th century, San Francisco, Earth, who had the bad luck to rent her rooms to a certain "Mr. Pickerd" and his theatre troupe. "Mr. Pickerd" offered her the part of Titania in their newest play, "A Midsummer Night's Dream", in order to divert her from claiming the overdue rent. However, his ploy was unsuccessful. After "Mr. Pickerd" and his troupe left San Francisco, their bill was settled by Samuel Clemens. (TNG: "Time's Arrow, Part II")
