For the homeworld of the Karemma, please see Karemma (planet).

Carema III was the third planet of the Carema system. This planet was rich in natural resources.

During the late 2360s, Starfleet considered the use of a Tyran particle fountain to mine the planet's resources. In 2369, the USS Enterprise-D was sent to Tyrus VIIa to observe the progress of the radically new technology for potential use on Carema. However, because the fountain project was behind schedule, due to numerous unforeseen problems, its use on Carema was at the time passed over. (TNG: "The Quality of Life")

According to the Star Trek: Star Charts, on the chart "United Federation of Planets I", Carema III was listed as a member planet of the Federation in 2378.
