• The Star Trek: Star Charts, on pages 42-43, stated that the Cardassian system was made up of a total of eight planets and contained two asteroid belts. It also cited a distance of 5.25 light years between Bajor and Cardassia.

• The RPG book Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Narrator's Toolkit, provides the following information:
  • the star is a bright red dwarf (M2 V type)
  • the first two planets are class F
  • Cardassia Prime is the third planet in the system
  • Cardassia VI and VII are class J gas giants
  • Cardassia VIII is class G
