Cape Kennedy was a location in the region of Florida on Earth, named for John F. Kennedy.
In the 20th century, it was the location of a NASA facility utilized for the purpose of launching spacecraft. The first manned moon shot, Apollo 11, was launched from Cape Kennedy in 1969. (TOS: "Tomorrow is Yesterday")
Cape Kennedy was only named as such from 1963 to 1973, and is currently again known by its original name, Cape Canaveral.
