Caldik Prime was the main planet in the Caldik system. This was a Federation planet, and it was the location of a Starfleet facility.

The original chief medical officer of the USS Voyager was a surgeon at the hospital on Caldik Prime when Tom Paris was stationed there. It was at Caldik Prime that Paris caused the accident that was responsible for the death of three officers and led to his expulsion from Starfleet. (VOY: "Caretaker")

According to the Star Trek: Star Charts (pg. 47), the Caldik system was in or near to Federation space, in the Alpha Quadrant. This system was a quadrinary system. Primary was a Class A star with a magnitude of +1, which was 100 times brighter than Sol. The secondary, tertiary, and quarternary stars were Class A stars.
