Calcium is a chemical element, number 20 on the periodic table, a member of the alkaline earth metals. This element was pictured on a periodic table in the ship's schoolroom aboard the USS Enterprise-D. (TNG:"Rascals")
- The chart in the schoolroom was a piece of background signage which contained numerous irregularities and in-jokes. It listed this element with its symbol "Ca," but named it "Hobbes" and numbered it 01, which conflicts with existing element hydrogen. "Ca" was again listed, incorrectly, as californium (number 98), with the incorrect number 19, which belongs to potassium.
