The Cal-Neva Lodge was a hotel and casino located overlooking Lake Tahoe, near Reno, Nevada on Earth. Cal-Neva was incorporated into the holosuite program Bashir 62, a 24th century rendition of 1962.
That year, Vic Fontaine planned on flying up to Tahoe for a couple days to see his friend Sammy perform at the Cal-Neva. While there, Vic intended to introduce Nog to Sammy. (DS9: "It's Only a Paper Moon")
Known as the Cal-Neva Lodge during the given timeframe, it was later renamed as the Cal-Neva Resort
Cal-Neva takes its name from the two US states it straddles: California and Nevada.
The Cal-Neva Lodge opened it doors for the first time in the 1920s. (Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 1, p. 113))
