Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin is an American pilot and NASA astronaut who became the second Human to set foot on Earth's Moon (after Neil Armstrong) during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969.
After Jonathan Archer was passed up to pilot Starfleet's first Warp 2 flight in favor of A.G. Robinson and kept on as backup pilot, Archer compared himself to Aldrin, telling Ruby no one remembers what Aldrin said when he first stepped on the moon since he wasn't the first. (ENT: "First Flight")
An image depicting Aldrin on the moon was contained in the library computer aboard the USS Enterprise in 2254. (TOS: "The Cage" remastered)
A year later, in the alternate reality, another image of Buzz Aldrin on the moon was on display in the Shipyard Bar in Riverside, Iowa. (Star Trek)
