Bruce Branit (born 10 July 1967; age 47) is a visual effects artist and supervisor who has worked on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise. Originally in the employ of Digital Muse, he followed Muse's founder John Gross, when the latter left the company due to a hostile takeover, to become one of the founding team members of Eden FX, serving in the same capacity on Voyager and Enterprise. While working on the Star Trek-franchise, Branit has been nominated four times for the Emmy Award in the category "Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Series".

Career outside Star TrekEdit

Hailing from Kansas and having studied industrial design at the University of Kansas, Branit moved to Los Angeles in 1995 and joined Digital Muse as one of its earliest employees to assume the role of CGI Supervisor/Lead Animator and started working as such on Deep Space Nine, and the other productions that company was involved with such as the television productions Sliders (1996), and Baywatch (1998), as well as the movie productions Titanic (1996), Spawn and The Devil's Advocate (both 1997).

In 2004 Branit moved back to his home state and founded his own visual effects studio Branit FX.

In 2012, Branit received a fifth Emmy Award nomination in the category "Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Supporting Role" for his work on the episode "Face Off" of the television series Breaking Bad, which he shared with, among others, Steve Fong and William Powloski.
