Broth is a liquid in which bones, meat, fish, grains, or vegetables have been simmered and strained out. Broth is used as a basis for edible liquids such as soup.

In 2370, Gideon Seyetik served senior staff of Deep Space 9 a dinner of his creation made of one liter of clear rumall stock, among other ingredients. He claimed this broth was the most important ingredient. (DS9: "Second Sight")
