The Bronze Age refers to the developmental stage of Human development from approximately 3,500 BCE to 1,200 BCE in which Humans learn to cast bronze by smelting tin and copper and use the alloy predominantly in tools, weaponry, jewelry and cookware.

The proto-Vulcan civilization of Mintaka III is referred to as "bronze-age" in that the Mintakans have not yet developed the technical sophistication to forge iron. (TNG: "Who Watches the Watchers?")
