A plate of bregit lung.

Bregit lung (bIreQtagh) is a Klingon food often prepared on Klingon warships.

Commander William T. Riker said he enjoyed bregit lung when it was served aboard the IKS Pagh. (TNG: "A Matter Of Honor")

Alexander Rozhenko ordered a bowl of bregit lung from the replicator in the mess hall on board the IKS Rotarran in 2374. (DS9: "Sons and Daughters")

The name of this dish, bIreQtagh, is a literal translation, tagh meaning "lung" (as per The Klingon Dictionary). This should not be confused with the Klingon word "lung" (pronounced loong) which is translated as "1. type of animal" or "2. lizardlike". Star Trek: Klingon, the dish can be made from the breathing apparatus of any number of animals, but generally refers to animals including reptiles and salamanders.
