Breen (planet)

Breen is a planet in the Breen system, homeworld of the Breen species and capital world of the Breen Confederacy. Little is known about it, but the planet is widely believed to be a frozen wasteland. (DS9: "Indiscretion", "For the Uniform")

Upon learning that Odo was in love with Kira Nerys, Quark was surprised that Odo was capable of such feelings, as he always thought the changeling was "as cold as a Breen winter." (DS9: "Crossfire")

In 2372, Gul Dukat dreamed about sending his rival Gul Marratt to the Cardassian Embassy on Breen after he regained his former posting to the Detapa Council, knowing how Cardassians hate cold. (DS9: "Return to Grace")

In 2375, after the Breen joined the Dominion, Weyoun claimed it in fact had a temperate climate. (DS9: "When It Rains...")

If this is true it poses many questions about the extent and nature of Breen counter-intelligence, as references to Breen by major Alpha Quadrant powers, including the Carassians (who had an embassy on the planet) have refered to Breen as cold. However, the planet that the Cardassians had an embassy on could very well be a planet which the Breen simply chose to be their homeworld. It is possible that Weyoun was also sent to a different world as the Breen didn't want any non-Breen on their true homeworld.
