Boston America was founded in 1995 to manufacture and distribute impulse products to the novelty market. Since their inception, they began licensing products and created candies, energy drinks, and cosmetics, in addition to their novelty product line.

One of their licensed products is the Romulan Ale Energy Drink tie-in with Star Trek, released in May 2009.
