Borg Shield neutralizer

Borg cube's weapon drains the shields of the USS Enterprise-D

The shield neutralizer was a type of missile weapon used by the Borg Collective in the 24th century. The weapons were specifically designed to drain the deflector shields and disable the warp drive of enemy vessels. Unlike most of the Borg arsenal, this weapon did not damage infrastructure of the target.

In 2365, during the chase that ensued following the First Contact with the Borg, the USS Enterprise-D sustained three direct hits which left her defenseless. The Borg were then able to neutralize the warp drive with a fourth hit, causing Enterprise to drop to out of warp. (TNG: "Q Who")

The weapon was never named in the episode, and was only identified in a revised final draft of the script as a missile.[1]
