Bonestell Recreation Facility

The Bonestell Recreation Facility

The Bonestell Recreation Facility was a gaming and food establishment located near Federation Starbase Earhart in the 24th century. The facility featured various beverages and other services, including games such as dom-jot and barokie. It attracted a wide range of clientele, including non-aligned species like Nausicaans and Anticans, as well as numerous Starfleet personnel from the nearby starbase.

In 2327, Ensign Jean-Luc Picard had an unfortunate run-in with a Nausicaan sword at Bonestell which would require him to receive an artificial heart. (TNG: "Samaritan Snare", "Tapestry")

In 2381, Ensign Beckett Mariner visited Bonestell in hopes that Addix, a bartender there, would be able to repair a Caitian libido post she and Ensign D'Vana Tendi had accidentally broken. Addix was willing to make the repairs, but said he would charge fifty strips of latinum. Mariner attempted to win the latinum by hustling a group of Nausicaans at dom-jot, but angered them and was forced to flee without the latinum. (LD: "We'll Always Have Tom Paris")

People[]

According to the Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion (2nd ed., p. 87) and Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 1, p. 91), this facility was named after 20th century astronomical artist Chesley Bonestell.
"BONE-stel" was the pronunciation of this facility's name from the script pronunciation guide for "Samaritan Snare". [1]
