A bomber was a type of military aircraft designed to drop bombs onto ground targets, as opposed to fighter aircraft that are designed to engage other aircraft.

The Stuka, used by the Germans during World War II, was designed to be a dive-bomber.

In an alternate timeline, the Na'kuhl outfitted Stukas with plasma cannons and used them as fighters despite their design. (ENT: "Storm Front, Part II")
