AT: "mu" Template:Sidebar character Black was a Template:MU male serving in Template:MU during the mid-22nd century, holding the rank of Admiral as of January, 2155. Black also held jurisdiction over the Terran flagship Enterprise and the starship Avenger prior to his death in January of 2155.
Biography
Black had personally recommended several crewmembers for the Terran flagship Enterprise, including chief engineer Tucker, insisting to Captain Forrest that he replace his own engineer with Tucker. (ENT: "In a Mirror, Darkly") Black would also be given the authority to grant battlefield commissions as a part of his duties. (ENT: "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II")
Black would later be on the ISS Avenger which was part of an assault fleet that was attacked by rebels and assumed command when the vessel's Captain was killed. Black ordered the Avenger's tactical officer to concentrate weapons on the Andorian ships when the Defiant arrived, rescuing the ship and surviving crew. Black was contacted personally by Commander Archer who immediately asked for Captain Forrest and was invited to tour Defiant for himself, later finding the ship to be "a most impressive vessel". Black declined Archer command of Defiant. stating that other plans would likely be in motion for the ship, including a reverse engineering of it's systems, adding on that the people of Earth would be indebted to Commander Archer. Infuriated with Black's decision and calling of Archer's officially recognized rank, Archer vaporized Black with a phaser set on maximum, remarking the Admiral was "relieved". Background
Admiral Black was played by Gregory Itzin. It is unknown whether he has a counterpart in the regular universe, as no such person has ever been seen. Mike Sussman named the Admiral after writer Chris Black.
The Star Trek Customizable Card Game gives his full name as Logan Black. Meanwhile, the novel The Good That Men Do gives his counterpart's first name as Gregory.
