Bitanium is a metallic compound.
Bitanium was used in the neural pathway links of Data's positronic brain. When his head was discovered in the San Francisco of 2368, hidden there since 1893, a 12% decomposition of the bitanium was detected. (TNG: "Time's Arrow")
