Biogenic weapons are a classification of weapon that cause little or no damage to ships or infrastructure, but instead are designed to attack people. This category includes genetically engineered viruses, poisonous chemical compounds, and other similar materials. Examples of biogenic weapons include cobalt diselenide, which is extremely harmful to Cardassians, and trilithium resin, which is deadly to Humans. (DS9: "For the Uniform)

One of the methods pursued by the Xindi in the destruction of Earth was a deadly bioweapon they attempted to unleash in the year 2004. (ENT: "Rajiin", "Carpenter Street")

The Harvesters, a weapon developed by the T'Lani and the Kellerun, were a biogenic weapon. (DS9: "Armageddon Game")

Thalaron radiation has biogenic properties that make it useful as a weapon. The Reman warbird Scimitar was designed to emit thalaron radiation as a biogenic weapon capable of destroying all life on a class M planet. (Star Trek: Nemesis)
