Bio-genovesium (bottom)
Bio-genovesium was an energetic carbon-based biological reactant. This reactant was used for the bio-neutralization of hazardous organic waste products prior to electrolytic fractioning and recycling. Per SFRA 9323.4, this reactant was not to be used in biosynthetic food processing. It was stored in a liquid form. In 2367, this reactant was stored on aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise-D.
In that year, bio-genuvesium was on a list of explosives that Lieutenant Commander Data and Counselor Deanna Troi searched through in an attempt to find one that could produce enough energy to release the USS Enterprise-D and an alien ship from the Tyken's Rift. (TNG: "Night Terrors")
It was named for script supervisor Cosmo Genovese. (Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion)
