Bio-genovesium (bottom)

Bio-genovesium was an energetic carbon-based biological reactant. This reactant was used for the bio-neutralization of hazardous organic waste products prior to electrolytic fractioning and recycling. Per SFRA 9323.4, it was not recommended that this reactant be used for biosynthetic food processing. It was stored in a liquid form. In 2367, this reactant was stored on aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise-D.

In that year, bio-genuvesium was on a list of explosives that Lieutenant Commander Data and Counselor Deanna Troi searched through in an attempt to find one that could produce enough energy to release the USS Enterprise-D and an alien ship from the Tyken's Rift. (TNG: "Night Terrors")

Information for this reactant was carried over from the old graphics and revised with new information for its appearance on new graphics created for the remastered episode. It was named for script supervisor Cosmo Genovese. (Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion)
